Small Groups

One of the greatest opportunities for people at The Mission to grow in their spiritual lives is through small groups, or one of the special study groups connected with our church. These groups offer a wonderful time to discuss the questions that are on your heart with people who have dealt with or are working through the same things in their own lives.

Because our population at The Mission is spread out both geographically and in age, a number of different groups are operating in a variety of locations. They also operate on a variety of schedules, since each group chooses a day and time that works best for the people in the group.

This is our vision for small group ministry.

Know, care, and serve one another. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

We will work to know each other more and more deeply — sharing our hearts and lives, praying for one another, asking questions, and bearing each other’s burdens.

Pray and depend on the Lord. (Philippians 4:6–7)

We will come to God together in prayer, bringing our thanks, our praise, and our petitions.  We will be faithful to pray for one another, and for those outside of our group who are in need.  We will be intercessors on behalf of those who have yet to experience salvation through Jesus Christ.

Meet God through his word. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We will spend time together understanding what the Bible has to say to us.  In a spirit of friendship and support we will help one another to apply those truths to our lives.

Pursue disciples for Jesus. (Matthew 5: 13-16; Mark 16: 15)

We will be salt and light in our community.  We will be intentional in reaching out to that community, demonstrating the love of Jesus both through acts of kindness and service, and sharing the Gospel in accordance with Jesus' commission to go and make disciples.

Our hope is that everyone at The Mission would have an opportunity to be part of a small group or study group. If you want to join a group and need some help getting connected, please contact Pastor Buck Buchner (Visitation Pastor) at buck.b@yfctillsonburg.com or Nancy (Church Relations Director) at the office: 519-875-2414

If you are interested in joining or starting a small group, contact Nancy or Buck at the office. It is our hope to get people and families connected, to grow in God's word, and to build relationships that encourage us to thrive!
